The Sign of the Four

I think it's funny how in A Study in Pink, when Lestrade set the "drugs bust" Sherlock says he's clean, but in the stories, he's a cocaine addict. In the T.V. show, Sherlock is just addicted to cigarettes, so he uses nicotine patches. In The Sign of the Four, Sherlock and John talk about john's brochure, it's like what they discuss about John's blog in the episode The Great Game. In The Sign of the Four, Sherlock deducts from John's watch as opposed to his phone in A Study in Pink. I realize that BBC Sherlock is set in modern day, but it would still be easy for Sherlock to deduct from a watch, if John had one. Also, in the T.V. show, he deducts the same things from John's phone that he dies from John's watch in the books. Also, in The Sign of the Four, the murder and his ally come thru the window and it's speculated that the ally scaled the wall. This is like what happened in the episode The Blind Banker. Another difference is that in The Sign of the Four the treasure stealers are from India, whereas in The Blind Banker, they are Chinese. In The Sign of the Four, they leave a note saying, "The Sign of The Four". In The Blind Banker, they leave a Chinese sign.

Study in Pink vs. Study in Scarlet

The first difference between A Study in Pink (Sherlock Episode) and A Study in Scarlet (Sherlock Holmes story), is the title obviously. The second difference is that in A Study in Pink, the victim is a woman. In A Study in Scarlet, the victim is a male. In both versions, they were killed by a cab driver. Both cabbies had aneurisms. The difference between them is that in A Study in Pink, it was in his brain. In A Study in Scarlet, it was in his heart. Going off of that, in A Study in Pink, the cabbie was shot before Sherlock could take the poisoned pill. In A Study in Scarlet, the cabbie dies from his aneurism in prison. Both versions have the same location and Sherlock and John meet the same way. In both, the cabbie gives his victims a choice of pills. The biggest difference is in A Study in Pink, Sherlock said the woman was trying to write Rachel, but Anderson brings up the fact that Rache is revenge in German. In A Study in Scarlet, everyone thought the murdered was going to write Rachel, but was disturbed and didn't get to finish. The murder was actually writing Rache. The last small thing that was different was in A Study in Pink, the cabbie killed 4 people. In A Study in Scarlet, he killed only two for revenge.

I will do this for every episode of Sherlock that corresponds with a Sherlock Holmes novel or short story.

Clues for Series 3

For those of you who love Sherlock like me, you're all wondering what is going to happen during Sherlock Series 3. I think it's pretty obvious that Sherlock will come back after The Fall. This was just posted on the Sherlock FB fan page:
Steven Moffat has revealed the three tease words for series 3 of Sherlock. They are - Rat. Wedding. Bow.

Deducing caps on…

What does it mean? Is John going to the famous Mary we know from the Sherlock Holmes movies and stories? Try and figure it out. I will leave you will this. If you think you've figured it out, leave a comment.
